Our mission is provide the newest technology and procedures with “old fashioned” personalized patient care.   Satisfying our patients needs is important to all of us and we take the time to do it properly.

We have a variety of tools that enable us to make a great assessment of your eye health.  These tools allow us to perform Visual Field Testing, Digital Fundus Photography, Pachymetry, and Biomicroscopy.  Visual Field Testing is performed to reveal early signs of defects in the sensitive retina and the eye or the nerves leading to the brain.  Digital Fundus photography is used to capture images of the interior of the eye.  Its is helpful in diagnosing ocular diseases or monitoring the progression of disorders.  Pachimetry is an important test to measure the thickness of the cornea (the window on the eyes surface that we see through).  Finally, Biomicroscopy allows us to see the eyes surface tissue and up to 100 times magnification to help diagnose disorders.  You may read more about how we use our tools below.

FUNDUS CAMERA

A fundus camera or retinal camera is a specialized low power microscope with an attached camera designed to photograph the interior surface of the eye, including the retina, optic disc, macula, and posterior pole.

The Fundus camera is used by Dr. Eldridge for monitoring progression of a disease, diagnosis of a disease , or in screening programs, where the photos can be analyzed later.

FDT

The visual field test provides a map of the field of vision. The map shows precisely where different intensities of light are seen or not seen in the field of vision. This test can help show whether or not blind spots are developing as a result of glaucoma or other eye disorders.

The FDT is a state-of-the-art instrument that has proven highly useful in the early detection of glaucoma and other eye disorders. Regular testing with the FDT is a safe, fast, and reliable way to detect eye disease.

OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)

THE OCT gives us laser images representing deeper areas of the retina that we previously could not obtain. It takes very precise measurements of the retinal nerve fibers and show the earliest changes related to the diagnosis of glaucoma and macular degeneration. With it we are able to chart the progression and management of these disorders.

VISUAL FIELD MACHINE

The Visual fields test results are utilized to measure the full extent of the area visible to an eye that is looking straight ahead. These tests are used to identify and measure any loss of vision due to glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, tumors, strokes or eye trauma. Visual field testing can also be used to record “baseline” measurements against which future testing can be compared.
